Privacy Policy
Telos ("we", "us") operates the Telos mobile app and the API at api.telos.team. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — email address, handle, display name, and optional profile photo when you register or sign in (including via Google Sign-In).
- Google Sign-In — if you choose Google, we receive basic profile information from Google (such as your name, email address, and profile picture) to create or sign in to your Telos account.
- Group and activity data — groups you join or create, actions you sign up for, submissions, evidence (photos, videos, links, or text you upload), reviews, badges, reputation scores, and related metadata.
- Device permissions — with your permission, the app accesses your camera and photo library so you can attach evidence and set a profile photo. We only access media you choose to upload.
- Technical data — authentication tokens stored on your device, and standard server logs (such as IP address, request timestamps, and error information) needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Telos app and API.
- Authenticate you and keep your session secure.
- Enable group coordination, peer review, and recognition features described in the app.
- Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service.
- Protect against abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
How we share information
Within Telos, other members of a group can see information you share in that group context (for example your display name, profile photo, submissions, reviews, badges, and reputation scores visible in that group). We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with:
- Service providers — such as cloud hosting and storage providers that help us run the service, under contractual obligations to protect your data.
- Google — when you use Google Sign-In, Google's privacy policy applies to information processed by Google.
- Legal requirements — when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
Data retention
We retain account and activity data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request account deletion by contacting us.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- You can update your profile information in the app.
- You can decline camera or photo permissions; some features may not work without them.
- You can leave groups and stop using the app at any time.
Children
Telos is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date when we do.
